The Story of Limbo (Our logo) . . .
This familiar mark has been used for years on all W.M. Cramer Lumber materials and advertisements and yet surprisingly is still a mystery to some of our clients. Originally drawn by June Myles, daughter of George Myles of Myles Lumber Co., the logo represents a lumber rule wearing a work cap and holding two boards that make up the words: "Cramer Quality Hardwoods." Wendell M. Cramer was so impressed with the look that "Limbo" quickly found a home with W.M. Cramer Lumber. Over time "Limbo" has become synonymous throughout the industry for quality and has found his way traveling across the world with other fine Cramer products. As a matter of fact, "Limbo" has become so popular that every year we receive sculptures and carvings from enthusiastic clients and well-wishers. We are delighted at the popularity of our logo and while "Limbo" is whimsical in nature to our clientele, we do take him very seriously. "Limbo" to us serves as a tangible symbol of a pledge to deliver the very best to our customers.
